We are giving the Discourse “Categories” option a go as our landing page. What do you think?

If you prefer to have a different landing page, you can set it as a personal option:

  1. Click on your avatar (top right corner)
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Select Interface
  4. Select your preferred landing page from the Default Home Page drop down options
  5. Click Save Changes

I, for one, went back to having latest as the landing page for 2 reasons.

  1. Categories view is too packed in mobile screen, and I mainly browse using my phone.
  2. Discourse allows people to create discussions which are uncategorised.

I see categories as just tags. Topics are still the first class citizens to me.

The desktop version with categories and latest posts in different columns is great.
But for mobile, I agree with SHC. Latest topics in the most interesting thing to see.
