My brother had the ZX81, I learnt to program on it.
But… this looks like yet another console that won’t run Java ;D
I had a 48 and 128 and grew up learning to code on them. I’m happy people are excited about it, but personally not sure I get it. I’m suspicious of the whole repackaging of retro stuff at the moment. Almost every platform can emulate the spectrum perfectly, and if you want the real experience of fipping the tape to side B and waiting another 15 mins, a real spectrum is not expensive to buy on eBay.
I hear of the same plan to repackage an Amiga 500, personally I find Amiga emulation to be a much easier experience than owning a real one! No more disk errors and ‘please insert disk 12’ in the middle of a game!
But then, at the end of the day I suppose if you can, then ‘why not’.
