I’ve tried to set up a simple web start program on the web but it doesn’t work. Here’s the URL:

Can anyone tell me what’s wrong?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Søren

An error occurred while launching/running the application.
Title: Random
Vendor: Random Industries
Category: Security Error
Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system
Unsigned resource: http://www.projektrandom.frac.dk/Test.jar
You must sign your jar file to prove your identity before you can go asking for all permissions, and even then, the user will be warned with a heinous message claiming death and destruction awaits.
Think about it: your JNLP link there could just start doing a recursive delete of all the files in C:\ - yikes.

There is info on how to sign your jars in the developers guide:
http://java.sun.com/products/javawebstart/1.2/docs/developersguide.html
I get another error message that don’t disappear when I sign my jar (thanks for that anyway):
An error occurred while launching/running the application.
Category: Invalid Argument Error
Could not load file/URL specified: C:\Documents and Settings\Søren\Lokale indstillinger\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\W1QVGHE3\random[1].jnlp
Any ideas on how to solve this?
Just tested it with Netscape 7.1 and it worked fine. By surfing through forums round the net I’m now convinced that my server isn’t set up to make web start and IE cooperate. This is due to a bug in IE caching - damn you MS!!
Thanks for your help!
Ew you’ve still got IE installed??!!
