I would appreciate for any feedback.

Old:
Game is my entry for slick2d 2011 competition. Game work as applet and there should be no clutter. I have still couple weeks left if there some problems or bugs so reports those so I can fix those.
ShapeTronic is unique combination of breakout, space and physics. I hope controls and game mechanics are intuitive enough for not needing any indstruction. Report if something was hard or odd.
Edit: Placed second at combined category and was best at audio visual category.

It takes a long time to download all the resources!

Otherwise, I love the graphics and the “Alleyway” theme
Good job!!

Total size is about 12Mt and I got pretty non-decent host. I try to pack some files little better but I think there is not much that I can do files that are allready compressed .oggs and .pngs. I could use lzma and pack200 but I m not sure how much those would help. Maybe I need pay for decent server.

Works nicely here.
Edit: I got my green block stuck by hitting the blue blocks from above, since blue blocks can’t knock other blue blocks the green block just stayed there.

It’s a feature. On serious note I can’t figure out how to solve this. There is redrop button so you allways can reset the rectangle but it still little harsh to punish player for that. Maybe I could try to check if rectangle is resting and make it redrop(reset) then.

Really fun actually. It’s very nice looking and runs well. Got to level three so far

Thank.
Because many have mentioned graphics I have to point out one of my contributor J-P Metsävainio. My fellow-countryman with excellent skill of taking those amazing looking nebula pictures. Every level is composed from different astro photo. I can’t thank enough him from lending his masterpieces to my use. More cool images http://astroanarchy.zenfolio.com/
There is two main features witch make that look. Everything is motion blurred with background image. This is easily done with lowering alpha value (to 0.7) and disabling screen clearing. Secondly every moving object make particle effect. When you combine these bot you get smooth motion but sharp static edges.
Slowly moving bosses still annoy my eyes but I think real players just can’t see that. There is much going on when you have to bounce green rect, avoid burning boxes and still try to aim to boss. There is just not that much time to stare boss and try to find some graphical glitches.

Still I think this will be my last project without real graphical designer.

How about music? Did you liked William Cushman’s piano melodies? I have listened that piece of music over 200times and still not bored.

Yes the music is amazing! I loved it!

Not single bug report yet. Maybe nobody is playing it or I finally made everything stable at once. I have made some minor changes but I those can wait till final version.
Any feedback even critique would help me a lot.

No I haven’t noticed any bugs at all

Final version released.

Change list is short. Only stun mechanic get minor change for smoother game play.

Has anyone yet killed secret boss?

Vote is on. If you did like the game go vote now. Or later there is time until end of May.
