I have always assumed that the Nokia 3510i was a series30 phone, but now www.forum.nokia.com says it is a series40 1.0 phone ???
I could swear I saw the 3510i classified as a s30 phone a while back.
Is there such a thing as a s30 phone?
Thanks…

It’s both really
It’s classified as a Series 40 Developer platform because it shares most of it’s specs with the Series 40 phones: the same API (MIDP 1.0+Nokia UI), number of colors (4096), heap size.
But it’s UI specs are inline with a Series 30 phone (except that it’s a color phone): 96x65 pixel screen, doesn’t have 4-directional arrow keys.
The flagship Series 30 device is considered to be the 6310i.
shmoove
well , series 40 is just a catogory name. From technical point of view it does not change anything but if you are making a game which should work on every Nokia s40 devices then 3510i should NOT be included!!! Screen size is ~%25 smaller which makes it almost senseless to have a commom build with other s40’s. And I really wonder is 3510i still profitable for game market. Because the phone is absolutely out of date and second hand may cost about 40-50 ¤ max. Instead of paying 5-6¤ for a game a sensible customer would better buy a new phone.
serdarso, you would be amazed how many people have that phone and LOVE it. It’s one of the most popular nokia models. There fore, it has to be taken into account if you’re making a game. Actually, many operators demand it will be supported if you want to ship a game with them anyway.
As a developer I really don’t like the phone. It got small screen, things look ugly on it whatever you do, it’s weak and it GOT to be supported.
Yuck.
