The Disney Mobile Studios team is looking for a senior level J2ME Developer to manage/perform ports of J2ME games and applications to the mobile handsets supported by Disney Mobile Studios. This is a lead/managerial role, having between one and four direct reports. This role’s duties will be split between performing porting duties and managing the those that perform porting duties.
Responsibilities:
J2ME GAMES/APPLICATIONS ACQUISITION
- Manage/perform the receipt of reference builds for J2ME games/applications from the WDIG creative and/or operations teams
- Manage/perform the review of reference builds to assure adherence to required porting specifications
J2ME GAMES/APPLICATIONS PORTING - Manage/perform the configuration of porting systems to the requirements of the project
- Manage/perform the porting of reference builds into versions compliant with destination handsets
- Manage/perform the quality assurance (QA) checks on ported builds using handset emulators and handsets
J2ME GAMES/APPLICATIONS DELIVERY - Manage/perform the timely delivery of ported builds to the WDIG Delivery Manager
TEAM INTERFACE AND VENDOR MANAGEMENT - Maintain effective working relationships with direct reports as well as those providing reference builds, receiving ported builds, and providing porting technologies/platforms
- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and submit to manager
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in technical project management
- 3+ years in game/application development
- 5+ years in computer programming
- Bachelor degree in technical subject, preferably engineering or computer science
- Knowledge of and interest in wireless technologies
Specific Skills Required:
- Java programming/development (preferably with J2ME experience)
- Experience with XML
- Outstanding attention to detail and organizational ability
- Strong capability to manage people and projects
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills
