Seas of Neptune

This is my second arcade style game. It’s called Seas of Neptune. I’m currently only on my 2nd week into the game but wondered if I could have some feedback regards game play, also is it possible to understand what to do? does it feel like Neptune? possible improvements etc etc. It’s still earlly days but the game seems playable although the high scores aren’t implemented yet. I haven’t quite worked out the alien graphics so if anybody has any suggestions that fit the style of the game then feel free. Any constructive comments welcome!

Download the Seas of Neptune zip file and click the bat file to run.

I’d explain more about how the game plays but I’m interested to see if people can pick it up from the game or the info screens.

Or [icode]java -jar neptune.jar[/icode]. Us Linux users have already taken a far more drastic method of disabling Direct3D! ;D

Has anyone played it? I’ve nearly finished the damn thing now ::slight_smile:

It’s just a standard arcade style shooter but your ship floats on jets above a simulated sea from which the aliens and gas bubbles come. The aim is to harvest rain and bubbles while fending off aliens and keeping your ammo, shields and fuel tanks from running empty. Pretty much everything tries to kill you but you can earn power ups to last longer. There’s a tutorial to show you how to play (my 1st attempt at one of these). There’s also a global high score list.

Any feedback would be welcome.
