RTS - Any Takers?

I got this volunteer project … It’s a full working version of a Real-Time Strategy game! However, needs some tweaking here and there. The graphics need improvement. Anybody interested? I currently do not have the time and resources to put it online. I put it up about a year ago, but then kind of lost interest.

Anybody interested in collaboration? Did I mention it to be a full working version? Any ideas welcome! ;D

Here some screenshot:

I’d definitely be interested in playing it and seeing what’s there. I’m working on something else at the moment but if the screenshots are any indication, this thing looks like it might have some real potential.

Is there a playable version I can download somewhere? Or could you PM me with a .zip file or something?

-Jeff

Alright, I uploaded it to my web site! ;D
Download the game at: http://www.aevumobscurum.com/revolution/download/AORE1-Windows-FULL-0.90b.zip

It takes about 5 minutes to get it to run. I don’t have the server running right now, but you can also run it locally as well! Please read through the “INSTALL.txt” file!

Let me know if you have any problems?

You did not setup the database correctly. The game server uses the AevumObscurum.mdb
database to lookup usernames/password.

Did you do step 1:

  1. Setup database:
    a) Control Panel -> Administration Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC)
    b) User DSN Tab: Add … -> “Microsoft Access Driver”:
    Data Source Name: AevumObscurumDSN
Database Select …: Choose the AevumObscurum.mdb file

-> basically you add the database to Windows so the game server can find it. Go to the ODBC
control panel and add the database with EXACT name AevumObscurumDSN. The database
is in the zipped file too. Select the database when you create the entry into ODBC. You should
have:
ODBC Entry: AevumObscurumDSN which points to the AevumObscurum.mdb file on your
computer.

Does this fix the problem?

Turned out i had created the ODBC instance correctly
but forgot to set the correct file path to your mdb file!

Thanks for your help!

Looking at your homepage seems you are a crew allready
Need some further help?

Perhaps still need some help with testing?

The game that you downloaded from here is NOT the same as the one currently online! Did you try it out and what do you think (the download from here)?
