Rimor

Introducing my work in progress: Rimor. I have been playing about with making games for a while now, but this is the first one I have considered seeing through to completion. Rimor combines the exploration of RPGs, the building of Minecraft and the creature on creature battles of Pokemon. I hope that it comes together to create something that is fun to play!

Forests: Randomly generated with two types of creatures so far: rabbit and bee. Trees and rocks can be broken to gather resources.

Battle scene: I am aware that the battle scene is a little basic at the moment. My thinking is that I want the game to get to a stage where it is fun as quickly as possible and so I have chosen to wait to improve the aesthetics.

Inventory: The full list of items a player has is shown on the left hand side, which is scrollable so that large inventories are not a problem. Items can be clicked and moved into the item bar so the player can use/place them in game.

I have started a blog to keep track of game developments as and when I finish new features. This can be found at http://rimorgame.wordpress.com/. I will however, try and post regular updates here as well.

Looks great
Is there a playable demo?
What engine did you use?

I haven’t used any engine for this, just pure java.

I don’t feel like im ready to put out a demo just yet, although I think maybe soon I will be in a position to - ill post here whenever I release that

I have decided that for a demo it isn’t really important at what stage the game is, so I making the current form of the game available for download.

You can get it from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/5m74u16usu4b30p/Rimor.zip

Hope you enjoy

Cool, Ill check it out now.

This looks like its going to be a pretty cool game
Some issues (I know its not done  )
-I got pinched between your two AIs
-The collision feels sticky, consider improvment

Yeah, I only started on the AIs today, so I have noticed the problem as well. I will be working on them in the coming days and adding their functionality so they don’t just get in the way

Looks promising.

I would work on your UI a bit and focus on its aesthetics, but other than that I love the environment.
