Required Reading

I’m interested in making a sticky topic here containing links to material, such as books, tutorials, for beginners, and even the more experienced, in game programming. We’ll see where this thread goes, and if we get a bunch of feedback we might ask some of the moderators to make it a sticky.

My first input into this, that comes to my mind, is perhaps Kev’s Space Invaders tutorial, that has helped many.

I agree. The book is incredibly well written, and handles a large number of topics related to game development.

I couldn’t agree more. This book literally taught me trig all over again with the 3D engine tutorial.

For beginners, learn Java before attempting to program a game.
