You may also want to take a look at my Arcane project. It is a Java-based framework for dealing with MTG data. Built on top of it is a deck builder, rules viewer, and the start of a networked gameplay engine. I lost interest at that point since MTG is patented in the US. The Arcane framework is being maintained by “Snacko” and can be gotten as part of “Nate’s Deck Builder”, here:
