Recruiting Java coders for XPilot port

Hello I’m wondering if anyone would like to join me in porting this wonderful game (http://www.xpilot.org/) to Java.

This would either be contributing to https://sourceforge.net/projects/jxpilot/ (which has had no progress and whose owners I’ve contacted) or starting a new project.

I actually looked into this a few months ago when I was looking for a new project, but I didn’t proceed since the servers seemed to be empty. I’d be interested in giving some contributions when I’ve got time. I’ve been looking for a good multiplayer Java game with an active community for years, so fingers crossed this takes off again.

Cool… I never came across XPilot before. When I get around to releasing TyphonRT it seems like a great vehicle for a demo example client and containerized server effort with a focus on entities / component architecture in implementation. I’ll try and keep this in mind! ;D

OK I suggest we have a chat with whoever else is interested in one or two weeks to plan how we’ll do this.

Hopefully the owners of jxpilot will have got back to me by then.

What questions are you asking them?

If they’d like to be active in developing this

I’ve just been reminded of this. Did you get my reply?
