Hmm… funny (<-bad word this case :)) trailer…

cute

Thanks!

It does look good!

Thank you! These days it’s hard to reach people to play just once…

Flappy bird clone with an actual story, I like it.

Gibbo, you were faster (that it is improved Flappy Birds).
You might want to add sound to the intro sequence, music at all.

Thanks… Damn Flappy bird… Go figure… :point: Started this game early 2012 inspired by copter flash game and monster dash… Shouldn’t have taken too many breaks… ;D

It’s influenced by copter, monster dash, line bird, jetpack joyride… Now it seems like inspired by flappy bird… :emo:

Intro music, that I should have…removed it because in cheap android devices, loading time is long…was a wrong call…in next update… Thank you…

Haven’t played much flappy bird so this is fairly fresh for me - I enjoyed it!

Some thoughts:

Worked fine on my ipad.

I really like the background art style. Also the bird crash animation

Disembodied stripy barriers coming from the sky is a bit weird - would tree branches or alien tentacles make more sense? Also it’s odd for the bird to die from flying just into air at the top of the screen - couldn’t he just fall back down into view again?

The difficulty seems OK … except for … restarting from the beginning after each death! I’m done with the game now after 10 mins mainly because I don’t want to do the first level again and again. I’d be happy to play a lot more if it wasn’t for that. A 3-lives system would be maybe a bit old school but nothing wrong with that, or it could have checkpoints. Having said that I have slow reflexes so you may have it pitched just right

Is there some way to shoot corn cobs diagonally like in the screenshots? I could only shoot horizontally.

Gameplay-wise, well I’m guessing there might be laser beams and stuff later, or homing missiles which would explain the screenshots! But at the moment it’s not drawing me back…

I can see the attraction, the “purity”, of keeping strictly to one-tap control, but it feels really limiting to me. Could you hook something onto double taps or swipes? It would still be playable with one hand on the phone then and there would be more range of expression for the player. Again maybe this comes in later and I never got to see it?

Cheers,
Rich.

richierich - Thank you a bunch for playing and commenting in detail.

Yes, I am working on the top and bottom death as almost all my friends had the same reaction.
Diagonal shooting is in progress which coming to next release.
For the story scene, I am not going to change it yet.
One tap control - I will not change that unless I have a fascinating idea.

Really thank you for the nice feedback. Appreciate it.

hey folks! RebelChick has been updated.

What’s new-

  • Getting tired of slow start? Use a head start.
  • Not shooting enough? Upgrade your weapon. Bring hell to aliens.
  • Play with The Knight and experience his master weapon.
  • No more death on roof and ground

Perhaps you should try some marketing?

Did facebook marketing and also in two gaming sites. Did press release, social…etc. Spent around USD 500.00 but the game didn’t make even $10. No joke. So I kind of gave up on that.

Ouch, sorry to hear that mate. That really sucks balls.

I guess the average user can’t judge for themselves and only follow the “trend”.

That’s ok.

Have you considered implementing Facebook login?

Then market the game some more? The average Facebook user has 100- 150 friends, allowing your app to share scores and invite friends for in game currency might kick it off the ground.
