Hey guys,
I wasn’t going to release this publically until I finished a stable version, but I thought I’d show you guys what I have so far. It’s not very far because I lost everything I had (5 years worth of files), including this program; I had to start it from the beginning again.
It is being programmed with the new Java 6 - so yes, I have a system tray icon. The server program is being programmed with an intent to not be released publically; it’s meant to be ran on a dedicated server PC. However, since I won’t have the kind of money for a dedicated server, it may be a long while before I actually get it up and running like AIM, MSN, and ICQ (or any others). But now, however, since this program will be open-source, I may decide to release both the Client and the Server once I finish a stable version until I get a dedicated server (so that people can test QIM out to see how it works by themselves).
So, here are some current screenshots for you to drool over…
