I’d like to know from EA/Pogo if they consider releasing standalone desktop games developed in Java if not already the case and why.

Also, according to them what are the future trends of gaming portals in terms of game genres and audience.

Thanks

What do you think of Kongregate?

How are you going to take-over the market in Asia over the next 5 years?

Which is better for developing Casual games: Java, Flash 9, or C#?

Are you developing Xbox Live (XBL) games and why / why not?

A question similar to AnalogKid’s:

What would make Java more attractive to you for making desktop games? Does it need improvement because

It’s too hard to deploy since some computers don’t have a recent JRE?
It’s a lot easier to make games in other languages, like Flash?
(Graphics) performance is too slow?
Or is it more the case that you won’t switch since your programmers are not familiar with Java?

Thanks,
Keith

I like to piggyback off Keith’s questions and say that any question that shine light on the future of desktop java games being published and becoming part of the “mainstream” gaming industry would be of interest to me. Even mobile game companies and the possibility of them migrating to the desktop java market.

Dunno if this is the right place to bring this up but what do you think the impact on Java gaming might be if… Valve built in the JRE into Steam…?

Cas

Why would they do that?

…because Sun struck some deal to get Java games onto steam? Just a thought exercise.
