Maybe I should not tell you this but yesterday I went to a store and I saw Puzzle Pirates on the shelves I was really please to see that but when I saw the price I was really shocked : 10$ canadian only! I mean, what the hell is going on with the game? The game is not that old to merit a so low price! I guess that the popularity directly affects the price.

I just wanted to share you my reactions and disapointment and it hurts when you that for a commercial Java game.

Isn’t it a pay2play game, with monthly fees? If so, you’ll just be charged for distribution costs, which seems reasonable. If not, it’s indeed shocking.

I don’t see the problem. The client can be downloaded for free online anyway. Their revenue comes from monthly fees on the subscription servers and from purchases of ‘doubloons’ on the non-subscription servers. The boxed version just exposes them to a broader audience.
