Puppygames today released PUPPYTRON 2084 (1.5mb) (Java 1.4+, OpenGL, MacOS X, Windows, Linux x86)

Very Nice! It’s like a flash-back to the 80’s! Very fun, even if I suck as it (just like I did back then) :wink: The sounds is very good too.

My only complaint; the window is very small in my resolution.

Nice. I like this oldish-looking arcade kind of game. To be honest I like it more than both super elvis and alienflux…

I guess that some kind of games are better off without any 3D :slight_smile:

Using a 3D technology doesn’t make a game 3D. The gameplay and the choice of perspective however does. It is a 2D game and the gameplay is really fun because of that.

I maintain that nearly all 2D games are more fun than 3D versions of the same game.

If you’re working in a 2D paradigm why would making things 3D change anything?

Not quite what I meant… look at that Defender 3D version they did for Xbox. Yuk.

Doom is pretty much a 2D game drawn in 3D as well. That’s why it’s more fun than all the subsequent 3D shooters that came after it.

And Soldat is still the best internet deathmatch there is :slight_smile:

Great fun, I’ve played it way too much ;D if I were to request one think (even if its just for future games), I like to play all my games in fullscreen (its too hard to see small sprites at 1280x1024), so if its not an applet, make a fullscreen option! instead I’ve been having setting my resolution to 512x384 before playing :wink:

edit: if the game is a simple applet type game with no menu, using the alt + enter keyboard shortcut is a good way to go I think.

Might add an “expando-mode” link that runs it at 640x640. A bit tricky to go redesigning the game around fullscreen playfield at this stage…

Has no-one come up against the nag screen yet?

Unreal Tournament is much, much better than Quake.
