Publishing my game

I am almost finished with my first game. Works well on different Android devices, 100+ levels, all bugs fixed…

Is Kickstarter.com a good place to put my game for funding before I release it to the market?

I know these mobile market places take large cuts.

Kickstarter isn’t a good place to put a finished product, or very nearly finished one. You’re better off releasing to android/play and building a fanbase, then kickstarting your next project if people like your first.

You could (just an idea) publish it here.

Doesn’t Google Play keep 60% of the profits?

I was thing about taking some screen shoots and a video, and presenting it here.

I’m very new at all of this, but I like my game a lot. It’s unique.

Pretty sure the majority of successful developers haven’t made a lot of money based off per-sale profit, but rather through many sales/customer loyalty.

Publishing it here won’t do anything though, dont expect any amount of customers because of that.

Like all publishers (eg Steam) it takes 30%.
Were you seriously thinking about not publishing your Android game on the Play Store at all ?
Thats like a death-wish

It’s actually 30% cut of the price. Don’t forget the initial one time payment to Google to be an application publisher. Even at that, it’s still a bargain. For the 30% “loss” per sale you gain a reliable host, a payment processor, an analytics provider, and a trusted and easy way to get your application on a users phone. The other option is to pay a recurring fee for hosting whether the application sells or not, deal with the headache of keeping track of financial laws and transactions, and hoping users are technical enough and trust you enough to “side load” an unknown application on a device that contains a myriad of personal data.
