Protoship 2 is a Shump (Touhou, Gradius, R-Type) that is different from others in that the enemy waves before the boss are random. This makes it so that you have to relay on reflexes rather than memory. Protoship 2 also offers some very nice power-ups in the form of double shot lasers, misses, a shock-wave that can cut through many enemies at once, and a screen obliterating bomb. Protoship 2 has three differant difficulties, so even those who are not normally good at Shmups can have fun with this, and also includes full-screen support, multiple profiles, and can run on any OS with Java installed.

Also, don’t make people run stuff via sh or bat! Nobody is going to risk that!
It’s not going to work like that. Run the .bat, take a look at it with edit, it’s safe.
Most people wont test (including me) if its not webstart or an applet.
is this in jogl?
cause if so look at goussej’s webstart for TUER. You can include it in the jnlp.
That’s not true. Why shouldn’t you? There’s no difference between a signed webstart app and running a bat. You have to run exes all the time to try out game demos and stuff. Where’s the problem with a bat-file?
cause not many people bother to learn about bat’s (me NOT included 8)).
just right click, press edit, check for anything saying “del C:\WINDOWS” and your good :).
works here.
I think the game speed is way too fast and there are lots of unfair situations where you can’t escape the enemy bullets.
too fast to play here, looks like the game speed is frame based and not time based.
I agree with h3ckboy. The difference is that a seven-year-old child only has to click on “Ok” several times with Java Webstart whatever the operating system, it is easier than using a bat file. I won’t test this game while the author doesn’t spend a few minutes to write a JNLP file to ease the installation.
Excellent suggestion
btw, that quote is not by me :P.
I was pointing towards people trying it btw.
EDIT: I do prefer a webstart though. This is java after all.
pretty cool game
are the scores online or jsut on your pc?
cause if online then I am the best player, but I highly doubt that cause ll of the others are blank spots.
You can do more with a bat or a sh if you want to. You can practically anything with it. And obviously I did try to run it, but first I opened up the sh to see what it does.
I thought sh was linux?
is it same for mac?
So you can with a signed web start application. I really don’t see any difference at all,but well…it’s off topic anyway.
About the game: As others have mentioned it already: It plays way too fast. And the colors look somehow LSDish to me.
Mac OS X is built on Unix, so is Linux. Hence all the X’s.
