Promote YOUR Java Game

After finding that there appeared to be very few, if any, dedicated java game links pages left, we at Random Thoughts decided to just make our own.

And now we want YOUR games. Anyone can submit a game to our search engine, and there is a rating system and comments that can be added to each game by our users.

To submit your game, go this link:
http://www.randomthoughts.net/links/index.html

and click on the Add Game button. A few short fields to fill out and voila, your in the search engine.

Hopefully this will help to drive some traffic to your sites, as well as giving you another avenue to getting exposure for your games.

Only finished games please.

Cheers,
~ Random

Hey

I wanted to check it out, since i think it’s a great idea, although, perhaps most people searching for games really don’t care how the game was made
But anyways, i ran into this error when posting about one of my games:

Software is never “finished” :-p

So true

Perhaps something like “playable” would be a better although vague requirement :stuck_out_tongue:

  • Scarzzurs

Aye, but fix the submit bug in the meantime

Cas

Looking into it. I’ll post when we fix the submission bug.

By finished, I guess I mean not “half done”… or “work in progress”, with lots and lots of work still to do.

Runescape we were happy to include. Same with Dragon Court, Warzone, etc.

Thanks for the fast feedback,
~ Random

Fixed.

Enjoy.

Please precise exactly what you mean. TUER is “playable” on my view but not completely finished. I don’t want to waste some time if you consider that it is not ready to be submitted on your web site.

It would be fine if you add Bloodridge on your website as it is a complete 3D game. SimonH have made a very good job :

I think that this game deserves even more attention than mine.

WTF :o How many years has the JIT be around anyway…

[quote]…Because Java is an interpretted computer language…

+1 heu… yup… :o java is nowadays more a Just In Time compiled language… we can consider that this is no more an interpreted language …

That help page was written in late 1998.

We’ve been around for a while.

That is fine. We don’t want the list bogged down with broken links, games that only crash… splash welcome screens with no game behind it, etc. You would be surprised some of the things people try and pawn off as games that seem to be little more than an idea someone had and a few html pages. We want real games, and games that showcase what java can do.

~ Random

so why do none of the games show up on your site? I couldn’t find any besides yours(?).

They show up on the links site, just click search.

We are going to be redoing the entire links page over the coming weeks to better promote the games that are in the engine. We are pretty pleased so far, its been less than two days and we’ve already had over 20 submissions.

Of course we want lots, lots more. Hopefully that is just a drop in the bucket. Our games are in the engine as well, and our games page shows our work. We are discussing more closely linking the “games” and “links” sections of our site, but formatting, artwork etc. isn’t even close to being finalized.

Fine. TUER has not crashed until september 2007 as far as I know.

Count on me, I will do my best to add many Java games. I added three games yesterday. I know many good Java games, a lot of FPS.

Only premium members can give a note, it is too much restrictive. Your games often have very good notes whereas they are technically less strong than Jake 2 and Futuristic Arenas.
