Project poster preview

My Java3D project will soon be put up for external presentation and I have created a poster to introduce people to it. I would appreciate it if any of you native English speakers could please read the text and point out any errors before I send it off to the printers.

File deleted for now. Can’t risk keeping the file up overnight until I come up with a way to protect myself from bandwidth overage charges caused by the Slashdot effect and other DDOS attacks. Thanks to all who posted feedback.

The english looks fine to me (although thats no guarantee).

Nice poster, cool sounding project…

I’m a big E. A. Poe fan – I’d like to see this when it comes out.

All the english looked good.

The only thing that looked odd was the phrase “Emotional Interface”. I understand that an “installation” is a physical art thing and there is a need to come up with an arty word for the input device :). But it wasnt until I read the very bottom Technology section that I really understood what you are doing.

As I was reading the Emotional Interface section I thought that my “in game” character was straping on the wings. The first image didnt look like a photo, I thought it was an art image.

Its a very unique idea and may confuse people who read the poster. Not many people have seen anything like this before. It had me fooled until the technology section.

It is a hard concept to convey to people .

I agree with Tzan. You might want to put something like -

strap on some wings and make your virtual character fly through the vast world painted by E.E. Poe. Or something like that. Convince the reader that they will be using this ‘new’ wing technology to operate their character. Maybe saying that its an advanced controller of some sort.

Thanks for all the comments. Good to hear that there is nothing about the language that immediately pokes you in the eyes.

The comments about emotional interfaces was exactely the kind of feedback that I needed. “Emotional interfaces” is actually an academic term and quite a popular research area over here, so many people in my primary audience are familiar with the concept. However, it is clear from your comments that I should explain it better and perhaps do something about the first image.

Now that you have removed the poster, would you mind posting the text of the project here so that those who didn’t get a chance to see it know what this thread is about?

I am glad to see that the comments have raised some interest in the project but please have patience.

It has been proven several times over on these boards and elsewhere that giving half-finished presentations of projects is a really bad idea. This poster preview was just a ‘beta’ that was necessary for me to iron out the last few wrinkles and get the final version right.

The poster is scheduled to be sent to the printers this week and might become part of an invitation to a physical presentation in the beginning of June. I am also hoping to use the project in my hunt for a challenging job/master thesis project for the summer so you can be sure that a more complete presentation will be finished soon.
