Project Aeson -- Blog

The development blog for Project Aeson, under construction by Umbra Gaming is available here. Check it out.

Looks cool. What sort of game is it? Is this your MMORPG?

No. Fyrestone was cancelled because we finally realized that our one graphic artist could never make the 1000’s of models that were required ;D. But that’s okay, I’m glad we learned how challenging video game programming was by trying something like that. In fact I’m surprised (and proud) that we even made it as far as we did.

This is an RTS game I’ve been working on. The theory behind it is 2 to 8 players in an online battle. Each player will control 3 hero characters. Each hero character has 6 spells (no normal attack, just the 6 special abilities). Then it’s just an all-out duel. There may be some implementation for teams, but for the first playtest I’ll just be focusing on every-man-for-himself combat. The person who lives the longest wins. You can think of it as Footman Frenzy for Warcraft 3 with 3 heroes and no footman.

That sounds like fun. Good luck with the balance, but I’m sure you can do it. I was a fan of FF back in the day, although I spent most of my time in DOTA and/or making my own JASS-scripted WC3 maps.

Thank you. Just as an update, I’ve added a countdown until the first playtest release.

I have updated the blog to show off some of the spell icons that will be in the game.
