Hi all, one of my team is having trouble getting the latest (jre 1.5.0_05) Web Start to launch ANYTHING correct (to completion) on his machine.
Any one else confirm this?

I skipped 1.5._05 and am running Java 6 betas (which seems to work) so I can’t confirm or deny that there is an issue with 1.5.0_05.
But what happens in your case? Are there any error messages? Exceptions? Do the JAR files download?
start a web link, I get “Java Loading…” then nothing. Task Manager has the javaw.exe running, but still the console doesn’t even start up. I have left it going for well over a hour once so i don’t think its just being slow.

If you run javaws up you will be able to turn the java console on, you should then be able to see if any exceptions are being thrown, or are you saying that there are non in the java console either?

Right, I had him set that first thing, Java console never appears, no dumps, no info 
I suggest you to enable debugging options from the Java dialog in the last tab. Then you’ll have to look at the log files located in the Windows user dir where webstart persists its settings and cached apps. Sorry but I can’t give you a more precise location of the log files.
