Planets³ - a 3D open-world voxel-based RPG

Hi guys! My name is Alexandre Rey, I am a 3D artist. We have been developping this project with my french team for a few months.

This game is a kind of mix between Skyrim and Minecraft.
Getting the feedback of your community is really interesting for us.

How large is that team? You guys seem pretty productive if this is a few months!

Just wow, that looks like something I would play for a long time! :o

It looks great!

See here: http://www.planets-cube.com/the-team.html

@matheus23: Ah, indeed; my bad.

Team of 8, ~5 months, not bad at all!

Is that second picture from in game? If so… damn guys you deserve some kind of award for best looking indie graphics! Best looking game I’ve seen in a while!

The graphics are amazing

I think my eyes just exploded because of the awesomeness of this game :o. I cannot wait. ;D

Quick question, what libraries are you using to develop this?

Yes voxels, gimmegimme!

Thanks a lot guys!
I’ m sorry if you didn’t understand, the picture is a concept art (it’s written on the website and in the trailer)
But this is exactly what we want to get in-game.

the potential of this “6-shapes-blocks design” is huge. We have to develop it again and again

I will give you more details soon

Anyway thank you for your support^^

I will buy this game from you.

Just wow! in terms of reaction to the video.
Please tell me you’re going to actually have 6-sided cubic planets because that would be quite fun!

Looks very nice and promising !
(Without chauvinism of course 8))

Is it really open source?

What language is this written in? I want to assume Java, but I think 8’m probably wrong!

This looks awesome. Even if it doesn’t live up to the concept art it will still be an amazing game.

This gives me a throbbing member, the art work is absolutely outstanding.

looks really nice, just curious about the technical aspect, what game library/engine you using to make the game? or is it something custom you’ve rolled up?

Oh my god! I did a big mistake in the title: Open-world (not open-source)
sorry for that.

Anyway thank you for your support!
Our developpers work with C++ / Ogre.

Of course our solar system will be composed of severals 6-sides cubical planets.
And we are presently working on what kind of “people” will live on the others planets
