picadorstudio

Hi all.
I invite everybody to my website with java games.
www.picadorstudio.com
There is only one game  and it is part of Java4k competition.
Now I am working on strategic and economic game “Gas War”.
From above thank you for constructive comments.

umm, I never saw how to actually start the game

it just sat there doing nothing…

try enter, Einstein

it didnt say that anywhere, and I am not going to try pressing random buttons, I got better things to do.

well, I tried it out, and I cannot seem to get the torpedoes to fire… I tried space, I wasnt able to buy it either…

Hey heck, the second to last line in game says press enter

I forgot to post feedback after playing it. The game runs perfectly for me on vista 64, although I couldn’t manage to beat the first wave of enemies.

There were a few spelling mistakes I found:
The game title inside the applet is misspelled.
In the Introduction North See should be spelled North Sea
the line "sink as much as you can foe oil tankers and avoid enemy destroyers. " reads a bit strange
"sink enemy oil tankers and avoid destroyers. " reads better but there is probably a better way to word it.

Pretty cool, but the controls take too long to learn. Maybe just make it use the arrow keys for forward, turn left etc. And being submerged or on the surface should be a toggle on/off thing, perhaps with a delay.

Also I found that a good strategy was to get a hit in, then ‘escape’ to the edge of the map. you should spell it out in the instructions that reaching the edge of the map means you escape.

It’s coming along great!

oops my bad, I must be going crazy ;).

the way I would phrase that is “sink as many oil tankers as you can, but watch out for the destroyers.”

Hello again.
Thank you for comments.
I apologize for all spelling mistakes, and I corrected them.
The unlucky phrase I corrected followed by h3ckboy suggestion.
I made use of arrow keys also.

Enjoy SilentHunter4K :).

It takes ~2sec for the sub to go clear across the screen on my machine, so controlling is a bit difficult  Maybe add some throttling or fps limiter. Looks interesting though from the glimpses that I saw.

Try it again jojoh :).
Now it runs much better.

Yep, works fine and is quite fun. Takes a bit of time to learn the controls. Quite cool to get upgrades into a 4K game!
