Performance Test for the Voxel Thing

90 -client
100 -server

gtx 560 ti, i7 2600 3.7ghz

Another update, bit more of a test environment and fiddled with graphics style a bit:

Really appreciate the time everyone has taken, thanks so much!

Cheers,

Nice! Getting over 300fps now sometimes.

When walking up/down you cannot click right/left to quickly sidestep, while you can click up/down to sidestep when you’re moving right/left.

Mike

Nice work !
Probably not very representative, but this last version runs nevertheless at 46~48 fps on my poor Atlhon 3800+ (2.40 GHz), Geforce 8800.

About 180-225.

245-255 FPS when the whole screen is covered with voxels. GPU load still at 50% when running at that FPS.

160 to 180 -client
180 to 200 -server

Still locked to 60 here on this laptop but suspect then that there’s a driver setting.

I still also think it’d look nicer rendered at about half the resolution and then blown up to 2x without filtering  That’s just me though. SSAO would make it look lovely but I guess you can’t easily do that with sprites.

Cas

On college PC atm:

Intel Xeon E5-1620 @ 3.7Ghz
8GB DDR3 1833mhz
GTX770

220-240fps.

58 fps
Lots of stuttering.

293 - 320 fps
looked like 310 at average

Intel Xenon E3-1200 (3.30 GHz)
GeForce Gtx 550 Ti
16 GB DDR3

I wonder why it runs faster on my PC compared to Gibbo?! :persecutioncomplex:

Weird. These PC’s actually have x2 GTX770. Not sure if both are being used, so that could be the problem.

SLI requires fullscreen and a custom SLI profile to get working in most cases.

133-147fps on this latest version

280-310 fps (generally above 300)

CPU: Intel i7-4960 2.6 Ghz
GPU: NVidia GeForce GT 750M
RAM: 16 GB

Another PC for some stats:

Intel i5 4570S @ 2.90Ghz
4GB DDR3 1600mhz
Intel HD4600

110-128fps

Might I recommend in the next update you add a minimum and max FPS counter as well? Should be simple enough. This means we can just walk around for a few seconds and get an accurate reading.

New test, going to try a Scifi theme:

Test is up here, if you have time I’d love to get some new FPS counts and specs (space = fire).

Average: 310 - Max 357
