Performance Test for the Voxel Thing

Thanks everyone, really appreciated.

I will uncap it next loop, the reason for capping was there is little to no optimization going on here and I didn’t want to set a broken expectation for future updates.

Seeing that it hits 60FPS on majority of almost modern systems is great info tho!

Cheers,

Kev

35 fps

Hey if anyone minds giving the new version a test:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1668516/rox/index.html

It has a higher resolution, better shadows and in theory should run faster. I think I’ve removed the cap on FPS but it’s hard to tell on a Mac.

Really appreciated any testing before or now!

Thanks so much.

Cheers,

Kev

not sure. still 60 to 61 hz.

I don’t see a difference either.

I went from 56-60 to 60-61. It might just be that I have a fresh install on my computer though. Stupid thing. :\

No difference here, still getting 20 fps max.

Still hitting 60FPS… do you have vsync force enabled?

Solid 60.
CPU: Core i5 3570K@4GHz
GPU: MSI GTX660
Not going to list other specs since for a game of this caliber RAM isn’t really a factor, neither is the hard drive.

Based on other people’s fps/specs it seems like that this could run just fine on a newer integrated graphics card like an HD4000 (not saying that it’ll have a solid 60fps, but it’ll definitely be playable) and an average CPU (i3/FX4300 and above).

By the way there is a small bug related to movement: If you press two directions and let go of the one you pressed later the character will face in the wrong direction while walking. Example: Press and hold down, then left, now release left while you keep pressing down. The character will face left while it’s going downwards.

Smooth 60 fps on
Windows 7 32 bit
4 GB RAM
Intel core i3-2100 @ 3.1 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 2400

So I don’t think you have a performance issue.

Also ditto on @PandaMoniumHUN’s bug if it matters.

Right now bugs don’t matter, just messing with performance. Here’s a new one where I believe I have actually uncapped it. Didn’t know libgdx pre-controlled your FPS:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1668516/rox/index.html - FPS and specs if you have time please! Should be uncapped now.

Kev

I don’t know what the GPU specs are but my GPU is the one the computer came with.
