OSX 10.10 seems to have broken my games

… has anyone here got 10.10? Would you be able to do a bit of testing and sleuthing for me?

Cas

Could you post more detail into what you mean by “broken”? We don’t know if it won’t start, throws some exception, etc.

chrislo27: I think Cas is more looking for someone to test out fixes rather than find what’s wrong.

Actually both  Basically when launched, game does nothing at all. No output in Console allegedly.

Cas

This must be a problem across many different sdks/languages, as Marmalade (c++ game library) are reporting strange issues on osx beta.

From email :

"Please note that we have detected a compatibility issue with latest beta version of OS X (10.10.3 beta).

Specifically, the licensing component of Marmalade is incompatible with the latest OS X update. The impact of this issue is severe: Marmalade licenses cannot be activated or verified. As a result of this it is not possible to perform any builds or deployments".

Coincidence?

Er… is OSX 10.10 actually released then? Or is it still beta?

Cas

My Mac Mini got OSX 10.10.2 and happily runs my own game which uses LWJGL 2.9.3

Hm, using 2.9.2 here. Maybe I need to get that updated.

Cas

If it helps, Retro-Pixel Castles is running LWJGL 2.9.3 and I’ve gotten no crash reports from any of my mac users, but I haven’t been bothered to update my dusty Mac Mini and check it myself yet.

A lack of crash reports is rather ambiguous as a statistic :point: :-*

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Dunno, my mac users throw a hissy fit the nanosecond something isn’t exactly perfect. :stuck_out_tongue:
