IBM + Oracle + Apple combo

That’s more like it.

hahah, I read about that on engadget and thought “no doubt its already on javagaming hahaha, I’ll have to go check”

and Im not dissapointed.

Best news I’ve heard about Java in a while!! ;D ;D ;D

Excellent news!

Why didn’t those idiots announce it earlier?! It would have saved them lots of negative publicity.

More details from what they will be contributing:
Apple: we don’t want to invest resources in maintaining java anymore
Oracle: please?
Apple: No!
Oracle: Can we get your stuff then?
Apple: Perhaps …
Oracle: Yes?
Apple: We have an issue with the Android train - we need to slow its momentum…
Oracle: Sure no problem. Consider it done!
So true!

Yes that’s excellent news! Related to JVM anoncements, I fear what Oracle will do with their plan to release 2 separate JVMs: one of them free and the other offering better performance (HotSpot + JRockit).
