I believe a text file should be fine! Maybe upload it to source forge?
Put at least a reference to the license in all file headers and provide a copy in the zip. You can of course automatize this process. Please open your source code fast ;D
You can go to www.tuxfamily.org if you want to have excellent performance, free, no ad, entirely open source solution, lots of services (free too), fast download for your users… Sourceforge is fine but my game is both on Sourceforge and on Tuxfamily, the last one is faster and provides more space for your website and your source code.

what the benefit to use sourceforge rather than my own server ?
