Heres a crazy prototype that I whipped up this afternoon. It’s a 2d platform game as seen through the view point of the character - a 1 dimensional ray caster. It needs more work but its possible and challenging to navigate to the end. It almost feels 3d since it has perspective.
I love it. Soooo addicting. However Q for jump is ac awkward for me. Maybe make it spacebar?
Brilliant demo, I would love to see this expanded beyond one level.

I had a hard time to navigate through the level, but that’s the challenge, I know. I also think that Q is not the best choice for the jump action and I think the possibility to view with the mouse is more disturbing then helping.
Tried that, the game looks cool, pretty mind f**k thought. And yes, the Q key for jumping is a bit wrong imo.

This is brilliant, really enjoyed winning haha.
I tried doing some more work on this game to make it look better, it has some potential I think… but looking at those stripes for 5 hours straight gave me a terrible headache so I decided to call it quits.

But it hurts my eyes more than looking though a oculus haha
You should try and remake the original Super Mario World with this but seen from the eyes of Mario, would be cool
