Ok, maybe I'm just nagging and being childish, but...

…I just checked stats and currently my game Hyper Blazer is being played about 27000 times a month on average with no advertising whatsoever (much to my surprise), and I’m mailed a lot about the game by people who really seem to like it. Yet it’s not featured here.
Of course I have always respected the decision that it might not have what it takes to get to the featured section (and in fact I’ve never deemed it really completed myself, although I do actually kind of like the game), but given the popularity, could I ask for some well founded reasons why it’s subpar to the ‘featured’ section?

I don’t want to come across as a nagger and I know it could do with a lot of polishing but I suddenly got the feeling that although 27000 times a month is not really that much,I think it’s (perhaps surprisingly) actually pretty damn good imho considering I’ve not given my site (or the game) any attention for quite a long time. And therefore I got the feeling I could be on to something with Hyper Blazer so it might be worth it to get it up to standards.

Cheers,
Erik

No idea, how does it work here again ;D? Do I have to do something?

Cas

Your right, the game does belong in the featured section (and is by no means subpar), personally the only reason I didn’t move it there was because I was under the impression you were still working on it. If you consider it relatively complete, no reason it shouldn’t be featured.

Yeah, it helps to give us an ask. It’s hard to keep up with absolutely every game on here, but if you ask me to review it then I’ll do so.

Cosmic Trip is also IMO a game worthy to be featured, just update it to latest lwjgl so it runs on modern computers

Unless one of the other judges beat me to it, I’ll review and put hyper blazer into the featured section tomorrow. Its definitely one the JGO classics.

Oh, wow! There’s a featured section here? Look at that!

I guess my games are still considered sub-par. I’ll try harder with the next one!

Not necessarily. If you haven’t been reviewed at all that doesn’t mean your game isn’t good enough to be featured.

According to my logs, having a game in the ‘featured’ section brings in an average of 11.5 hits per month.
So it’s well worth fighting for. ::slight_smile:

Doh!

Yeah but think about how cool you look when you show it off to the ladies. ‘You’re talking to a real JGO FEATURED DUDE baby, yeah!’
Ok maybe not but it’s still nice
