Next Job in IT Section ?

Hello Guys,

Does anybody know if I could a next Job in the IT Section to get some Money or is this impossible with 17 Years ?

Regards, TGStudiosDE

Ok, let’s back up.

Say hypothetically I was a person who needed a IT guy and stumbled across you post. I’d click back to wherever I was immediately because you didn’t say anything about what kind of IT person you are, nor did you tell me anything about your qualifications or experience in the field. On top of that, you’re 17. You can’t even sign a contract to work for someone.

Harsh as it may sound, it would be pretty stupid to hypothetically hire you for any job from what information you’ve given.

What can you do about it? Wait a few years so you can legally sign a contract, and give some more information other than “hi i want a job for money im 17”

Finish your education :point: (But yes, you can get an IT job at 17, given you have skill X and Y, and have experience with Z.)

Ah Okay many Thanks for answering the Question ;D

Hire - No…
teaming for some project - Yes, like game designer, script writer, concept art creator.
There are billions project (games) that always need little more lvls etc…
It’s not official salary, but can be reworded for some small cash for candies, and fun experience ^^
(don’t listed me it not work like that in real world, where evil companies hire only “Best of the bests” to make Best games to make More money)

It works only in my world, and I don’t understand such directors(aka supervisors) who can pay salary 5k-10k$ per month hundred employers and can’t hire reword 50-200$ per month not so skilled ppl for couple hrs per week that make something…

I can separate for details and describe more, but…
Evil companies can’t understand what I talking about.
We use X and Y libraries and you need to have experiences with all C-type languages. Oh and know Java and this library. You must understand the flow of program creation too. If you don’t we won’t hire you.

This field is full of idiotic people. You will need to learn to do what your
asshole
says first, meaning get a real job first that is consuming to you. Do that for a year and you will learn. Then come when you are 18 you’ll be a little more bit ready.

My experience is that most IT companies want to hire people that just finished their education, and already have had 20 years of professional IT business experience. :cranky:

Luckily there are enough companies that are willing to give you a chance to actually build on that experience, for example after an internship.

Not questioning the actual meaning, what exactly do you consider to be in “the IT section”?

Your signature says you are in Germany, I have to assume that is where you are going to stay for the moment, so that is an entirely different thing to consider; finding a job and required education is a slightly different thing than it would be in, say, the US.

Generally, try to figure out what exactly you want to start in. Then look what is required, what of it you have.
Internships are also always a good option, be it even for figuring out what you want.

Also it would be useful if you mentioned what education you currently have and which you are currently at.
With 17 years, you are technically old enough for Abitur, from which studying would be a recommendable option, or did you go a different path?

Have you ever actually tried applying for jobs in this field? I can tell you right now you aren’t going to be hired solely based on if you know how to use ‘x’ library.

In case you are planning on attending university soon:

There are almost always some positions available that involve either programming or working with computers on different levels.
I got a job as student assistant this year (creating an simulation interface for scheduler/workload interaction => research and java programming)

You’ll have a lot of freedom and it is well paid in relation to the hours you’ll be working (36h ~> 420€).
You do not need anything formal, you have pretty good chances to find something if you know c++/matlab/java/whatever_needed and everything surrounding that well.
This isn’t always very exiting stuff tho, you could also end up doing annoying stuff, but it’ll definitely be awesome if you find something that overlaps with your interests.

This won’t get you into “IT” ??? but it’s a recommendable thing to do while you’re studying.

Also, take not that your high school probably has opportunity to get A+ certified certs. At least that’s what I got. I have access to a good paying job for being Mr IT.
