I was bored and decided to make a couple more random JGO changes, this time to user groups. There were a lot of JGO Strike Force people because 750 isn’t a very difficult post count to reach…

It’s a reference to Neuromancer, where a hacker is referred to as a console cowboy or just a cowboy, because of the nature of cyberspace in the book (think Tron). I was originally going to make it JGO Neuromancer but figured that would be a little bit too obscure.
what about a “JGO Robot”, sounds good too, no ?
I think Neuromancer is less obscure than cowboy. How about extends n00b.

‘Console Cowboy’ sounds to me like a euphemism for something smutty, like ‘Midnight Cowboy’!
Also, in the UK a ‘cowboy’ is someone who says they can do a job when they actually can’t, like ‘Cowboy Builder’ or (describing an incompetent company) ‘They’re useless! They’re just a bunch of cowboys!’.
I’m not sure I want to be an Artificial Construct either! Can you put me back to ‘noob’?

That is an existing title. I didn’t want to make my first post “How come I’m listed as a n00b?” I know the title is based on number of post not experience. Or are you insulting me?
I was thinking about but figured that putting one above the other would be unfair to the equally weighted members of the holy triad (that being ninjas, pirates, and zombies, robots have a minor place in the triad but are not actually a piece of the edge).
I didn’t mean to be insulting, I found it slightly ironic is all.
Ok. I’m ‘new’ to this site, I just wanted to make sure.
I see the titles as ‘newness’ to the site, not programming or even game programming. I would hope that most people here would see it that way.
As a side note. I am fairly new to game programming, but not java programming.
Yeah… nobody expects that a JGO n00b doesn’t know how to program. At least as far as I know.
