New feature: forum integrated wiki

Hi folks!

Tonight I saw the light and realized how a minimalistic wiki could ‘easily’ be integrated in SMF.

How it works:
[x] All topics in the Wiki board are considered wiki articles.
[x] The first post of a topic can be modified by any member.
[x] The first post of a topic will have an anonymous author: Wiki Duke.
[x] Any modifications will be saved as revisions, to ensure authors get the credits they deserve.
[x] All revisions of a wiki article are available for review.

Wiki guide: http://www.java-gaming.org/topics/wiki-guide/26890/view.html
Topic to mess around: http://www.java-gaming.org/topics/test-topic/26891/view.html

Suggestions and bug-reports are more than welcome.

I suggest we all group hug Riven.

I second that notion.

Great idea – this is incredibly awesome and could become a very good resource for Java developers of all skill levels. Can’t wait to see it pick up.

Judging from my experience with the previous wiki, it’s already has 300% more content, so it’s bound to be a success!

All hail Riven!

THIS!

… is the most useful forum feature I have seen in a looooong time. Of course it won’t work in forums that are public unless you like total moderation chaos and mayhem (I consider JGO to be semi-public as its topic is for a niche crowd)

Modifying the first post does not alter the last modified date of the wiki thread it seems.

Thanks!

There are a lot of weird bugs remaining. I have to write hooks in more and more places in SMF to get it all to work nicely. Thanks for reporting this though!

Wikipedia seems public enough! Somehow it works… why give up on humanity so quickly?

Yeah sorry about that, I’ve been beaten down a bit by my experiences with programming (excluding JGO) and gaming related forums. But JGO is healing me, in time I feel like I can be more optimistic again
