There was a post-count threshold of 350. I lowered it to 250, so you can see it
If anybody has a suggestion on what should be the threshold, just let me know. I mean… we want to encourage n00bs giving appreciation to somebody that helped them…
Not sure what a sensible minimum would be, it feels like 250 posts is quite a lot for the less talkative amongst us (it’s taken me 3 years to accumulate 291).
I deliberately say it out in the open, so that people won’t try figure it out and secretly vote people down.
It is possible, just keep in mind that I removed it for a reason: positive feedback is great, negative feedback (by anonymous voting) feels horrible and unfair.
Okay, I went deep in the database, and it seems the database from ‘old jgo’ was even more messed up than expected I already fixed a bunch of issues, but there are a lot of records there that make little sense…
There were 6 membergroups (out of 15) that didn’t have the ‘karma_edit’ permission. The membergroups are defined by postcount, so this resulted in:
people with 100 posts could ‘appreciate’
people with 200 posts could not ‘appreciate’
people with 300 posts could ‘appreciate’
people with 400 posts could ‘appreciate’
people with 500 posts could not ‘appreciate’
etc etc etc.
