Networked Multiplayer Slime Volleyball

My goal has been to network the popular 2d java game slime volleyball so 100’s of people can play against one another at a time. I have made some progress editing the work of a previous coder however I am unsure how well the networking functionality is.

Big question: Are you able to connect or do you get a “Need to forward all UDP traffic” error?

If able to play a game against another user, how bad was the lag?

And if you could give me some info on your computer such as OS, browser, java version, connected via ethernet or wifi…

Thank you very much. This information is very valuable to me.

I got a ‘server did not respond…’ message, before which I alowed the program to run out of the sandbox and allowed windows firewall to unblock communication.

Hope that helps!

I connected and played with someone else just fine (although I’m terrible at the game). The lag was fine, but it felt like my guy moved too slowly to hit the ball. I’m on Mac OS X, Firefox 3.5, Java 1.6, via ethernet (DSL).

Interesting. I think a kid I went to high school with created the original slime volleyball as a class project…

hehe, must’ve been a smart guy.

works fine for me (connecting from 2 browser windows at same computer)
