Looking good!

though I agree that this theme is easier on the eyes, I still think that the bright blue looks … crap.
Go to http://www.smfthemes.org - pick a theme. Any Theme Will Do!

Whoa, my bookmarks stopped working!
Cool URIs don’t change, you need mod_rewrite:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule   ^/forum/(.*)   /$1   [R=301]

Now thats a pretty theme which would look great for JGO

+1

I agree - I also quite like this one (call me old-fashioned!)

Ye, theme #1 is ace. Colors are nicer and the font-size and line-height are also better.

wow this new theme is brilliant, can’t find anything wrong with it :slight_smile:

Ye, looks good… but the links are hidden a bit too well.

still making tweaks, more to come!

-Chris

New board looks ok.

2 suggestions though:

a) Please highlight/shade/colour both the “Show unread posts since last visit” & “Show new replies to your posts.” at the top.

b) Please highlight/shade/colour the URL links in people’s posts.

EDIT: Profile -> Look & Layout Preferences -> Time offset is still broken.

yeah - didn’t notice that when browsing themes. I just listed 4 different kinds that look better (surprisingly you could find worse then the 2 previous post-upgrade-jgo-themes :)).

Fortunately its a cinch to upload themes and do general maintenance with SMF. Should be even better with 2.0 which is in beta 4 right now. Hope the upgrade is straightforward :slight_smile:

While we’re at it fixing stuff - why not make links in signatures automatically work as links? As it is, the tags and description takes up a lot of characters towards the limit. Even better, enable BBcode in signatures and don’t count any characters within the BBcode - that way you can have a link with a description, and only counting the number of characters in the description (more links in total, yay!)

Also, as has already been pointed out, links are far too hard to see in this theme :slight_smile:

Now this theme I like: http://www.smfthemes.org/index.php?theme=333
It could use a slightly darker color than that orange (perhaps another hue entirely) but the layout is nice. :slight_smile:

EDIT: There’s also the old apollo theme on that site, heh. I kind of liked it, but I suppose you’re looking to change it.

Ok, so many requests coming in for themes, we need to get a handle on this.

I’m going back through the suggestions and what I may do is pick 3-4 themes that I modify and let you choose your own theme. The issue is that there is no one theme that will please everyone, so I’ll give you the choice. Fair?

-Chris

Ye, sounds good. Afterwards there could be some default theme poll.

Uh oh, the link text is the same color as the plain text. Bad idea!

a:link
{
		  color: #349;
		  text-decoration: none;
}
a:visited
{
		  color: #668;
		  text-decoration: none;
}

a:hover
{
		  color: #668;
		  text-decoration: underline;
}

Would work for example.

.quote
{
		  color: #000;
		  background-color: #ddd;
		  border: 1px solid #888;
		  margin: 2px 0 2px 0px;
		  padding: 2px;
}

Also looks better (imo anyways).

Just a question: anyone likes this army like theme? I find it ugly.

I’d prefer even paler shades. More white. Maybe a pale bluey theme instead of dull, rainy grey.

Cas :slight_smile:

Done. This will stay until I can get the other templates finished.
