Need your help - JavaOne placement

JGO Community:

I am tasked with providing some kick ass games for show at this year’s JavaOne. I know the usual suspects to comb over, but I wanted to hear what you thought were the BEST that this community has to offer. So, post away! Let me know which game/games should be called out and showcased. As well, we will use these for the BOF session in the evening at J1.

Post!

Hi Chris,

what are the requirements for those games? Do you need near complete games or some levels would be fine too? I’m developing an action puzzle game and it has only 2 levels for now and no game menu. My day job and home duties prevents me developing faster! :-\

Also, is there a dead line?

I think Mini Mootox was a pretty awesome game, one of the recent java games which I personally really liked, with its physics based gameplay, online multiplayer, easy to create custom tracks and skins, it is a lot of fun.

does deserve a mention IMO.

Bloodridge is very good, futuristic arenas too. Mine is… not considered as a game and Kenneth Russell refused to show it on JOGL homepage.

Look at “http://www.randomthoughts.net/links/index.html”, I’ve added some good 3D games. On happypenguin.org, some linux programmers have made excellent Java games (and they need our help as many people insult them because they chose Java) too ;D

Hey all, thanks for the replies. Deadline is the last week in April, so hit me with any games you have found, or are creating. Gouessej, I’ll check your stuff out

I’ve always liked Zombie 4: http://www.hardcorepawn.com/zombie4/

I’ve also wasted a hell of a lot of time playing SnakeJump and SFCave: http://www.sfcave.com/

Oh, and Misse and Murre, of course: http://www.foogamers.com/games/misse_murre/

Simple online games, not sure if that’s the type of thing you’re looking for or not…

Cas’s latest game - Droid Assault, is fantastic as usual.

ChrisM,

you can show my game Incredibuilder if you want. See my signature…

Then which games did you choose?

Are you sure this kind of game may be interesting for a JavaOne placement?

If you put Droid Assault on display just be sure it’s loud and got plenty of subwoofers attached

No I’m not. Is there a specific type of game to show?
