Hmm. Can you list any other Open GL 3D (not 2D) JOGL or LWJGL games that are running nice for you? Some video cards with limited Open GL support fall back to software rendering for 3D, which would explain the 9FPS.
Can you run Wurm or Agency9 stuff?

I guess I won’t know what’s going on without some logging, unless it’s related to ATI cards.
I’ll put some logging in the next version to see if I can get the Mac problem figured out.

IC, it’s probably your video card or it’s drivers just not liking Open GL 3D very much. I heard Intel cards have bad support for OGL, but probably run DX nicely (probably some agreement with M$ 
)
