National STEM Video Game Challenge

Hi Guys,

There’s an educational design competition that recently opened and will close 12 March 2012.

Unfortunately I can’t enter as I’m not a US citizen, but for those who are, this would be worth giving a try. There is a $50k prize, high profile sponsors, the competition are not great programmers and the games they make aren’t dazzling at all so you guys could smash it.

Cheers,
Keith

Unfortunately, I can’t enter because I left High School roughly 40 years ago. Oh well.

Lot’s of Music Composition competitions are the same way, limited to composers under 30. But I agree it is good to give the newest generation a leg up.

aww, I don’t go to US school right now :’(, oh well, there goes a laptop haha, I aint too sorrya bout the 2k for the school, my school is filthy rich :P.

I’m in high school and it looks like Java is allowed. I have no need for the laptop so I could sell it on eBay, and my school could use the money ;D
I’ll probably plan to enter! Thanks for the link CommanderKeith!

EDIT: YAY!! My 1700th post on JGO :stuck_out_tongue:

gaaahhh, I’m so jealous of you :stuck_out_tongue:

Don’t worry you have only 104 post and you get your post count to 1700. Or did you mean something that was related to topic

haha, I was being on topic ;).

I’m not a student or an educator. Oh well. I’ve entered a couple contents like this before and it just gets frustrating because I don’t win. :stuck_out_tongue: A lot of work for no payoff. I’d rather just make a game for the iPhone and put it on the app store.
