NASA World Wind

Folks,

This is a little off topic, but if you haven’t seen and played with the following it’s well worth a look by anyone into 3D.

A big download but very impressive.

Rob

Unbelievable…

I’m here:

worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=40.84715&lon=25.87692&view=0.14308

thats pretty cool , I didn’t know you could do THAT
I’m right here :

worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=53.35737&lon=-6.29195&view=0.09408

For the record, I’m here:

worldwind://goto/world=Earth&lat=50.97700&lon=-1.40428&view=0.12607

It is a very cool program although some of the data is old.

Well, my virtual globe is just as cool, does not require a huge download and is written in java.

And, I’m here:

I’m very, very impressed! You’re humiliating NASA with this! ;D

Thanks!

I’m really grateful for NASA giving us all those data for free, but I’m also a little envious when they are getting more publicity (even on a java GL list!) for a program that I find inferior on several points (especially performance).
