It seams like mpeg4 is going to be the future of the dead Vrml format for the internet. I was looking for a free player to test it and i found a very cool one in Java here from IBM:

Too bad they won’t let me download it but this seams to be a very cool tech. Like with the old Vrml an mpeg4 player can be enabled to run Java classes as scripts to bring intercativity to the 3d scenes.
