The link you gave is bad.

Other than the Tripod annoyances I got

Just add “Main-Class: Fightgame” tot he MANIFEST.MF file and we’ll be able to double click a jar, no need for the JEXE thing.

Also when I ran it from the command line nothing came up. just a big black screen.

Interesting, I hate the keyboard layout. A little more work and it will be pretty neat, although I’m not really into fighting games.

There is a bug with the computer jumping. The character can jump off the top of the screen and gets stuck there.

I ran it by using:

java -cp .;Fight.jar Fightgame

from the command line, the exe doesn’t work.

java -cp .;Fight.jar Fightgame

Worked for me. I’m not used to play this kind of fighting games, but the keys seem to be quite strange??

Maybe you got qwerty-keyboards? You rather play with the cursors?

By the way, I will soon be posting the newer version

case of files path are messed => files-not-founds on non windows OS

After a few mistakes trying to download and run it (had to use IE and not Mozilla) it’s not bad! I’m a huge fan of MK2 and this has some great potential. Care to start an open source project? Could be cool allowing people to create their own fighters and moves…

Bill

haha

that reminds me “medial kombat”

http://www.tiefwurf.de/mk/ (10mb)

well the key layout is quite strange… cursors and keys on the num-block would be better for a default configuration.

never the less… it’s quite funny

edit:

oh sry… i forgot to mention that “medial kombat” only works wich win9x or winME.

I’m unable to download it… Says something to the effect of ‘Remote loading’ not allowed on Tripod.

Tripod’s a bit of a weird one. They don’t allow people to link to their files (i.e. a non-Tripod referrer), but don’t care if there isn’t a referrer provided.

Instead of clicking on the link, copy the URL, open a new browser window, and paste the link into the address bar.

HTH.

I’m getting very bad graphics blur. Anytime any animation is drawn, it leaves the last few frames behind so after the character moves a bit, the whole screen is filled up w/ old frames so you can’t see anything.

Running this in linux - also I didn’t get any sound.

wow, pretty cool! it’s a good start. polish it a lot and it’ll be great and yes change the controllers

Very cool!!

One thing through, when you use the block feature, any attack on your guy doesn’t work. All you have to do is block, wait until your opponent stops punching etc, and then punch back. This makes the game easy. In Mortal Kombat, blocking is limited.

that is really well done.

i like it

its so addictive…
