Mode & frequency

It seems that lwjgl detects the wrong mode sometimes.
I have had people not being able to run my game because their computer didn´t support 8-bits alpha channel and some people (like me atm) get the mode 102476832 in 200 Hz when my monitor only supports 75 hz.

Any ideas why this might be happening?

When we try to detect modes, we iterate through all display adapters in the system, one of these are reporting this value…

Could you get a hold of the person experiencing these problems, and make him run Schlug using the -ea switch… this should display the modes in the console - paste that info into a email, and send it to brian@matzon.dk - I’ll take a look at it then…

My bet is that the displaymodes we get back, aren’t verified against the capabilities of the monitor.

I had this exact same problem with Alien Flux. The only way I could work around it was to manually filter out weird looking modes - so I ditch everything under 50Hz and everything over 85Hz.

I will fetch some error output as soon as I get home and e-mail it to you. And cas, I will try that as well

Mr. Matzon has just found out why we get those duff modes too, and he’s putting the fix in to the LWJGL native library now, so you won’t need to worry about it any more

will the fix be available soon?

I am currently busy in real life (digging & planting a hedge) - but when done I can make the las changes - and then 0.6 should be available for release… we’re aiming for the end of this week, sans any showstoppers.

halleluja!
