The developer took it down. Looks like he was trying to get Markus’s attention so that he could maybe do this in some sort of official capacity.
I was honestly thinking the same thing, although I wouldn’t have made the game and put in on the app store first. Instead, whenever he is thinking of porting Minecraft to iOS I figured I would email him and see if he’d pay me to do it, considering I’ve got a lot of iOS experience and I’ve ported Java games to the iPhone already. And because he “knows” me from JGO.
I mean, think about it. Doesn’t the idea of working for a completely independently funded company that is doing amazingly with just a few people sound awesome? One of my biggest issues with my current job is that there are 500 people telling me what needs to happen at any given moment - it feels schizophrenic. Also, Markus’s #1 priority is not money, which really is not the case with pretty much every other successful company. And having an excuse to move to Sweden would be cool too.
Just sayin’.

I really rather hope Markus switches his attention to the money because he’s got responsibilities now. It’s all very well doing it for the love when it’s just you but he has a company now and people working for him.
