My oh my I never expected any games “from this forum” to become the next Big Thing. But it appears that Minecraft has.
Markus always stood out from the rest of us as destined for greatness. There are a few others on this forum who I also think have the potential to do something great one day.
KevGlass is another obvious one that looked like he would go far but he seems to have dropped off the web lately.
For me I think being featured in a Penny-Arcade comic is probably about the highest honour a game designer could achieve. Either that or get a glowing review from Ben Croshaw . Anyway congrats Markus!
Yeah, this is true. There has pretty much always been a special magic in Markus’s games. I feel like I could get there if I had the time, but I practically never am able to finish games anymore which is a bummer. Instead I work for the man. 
And yeah, Kev was doing some amazing things but I think has had some crises in his life of late.
I will bet you money that Yahtzee eventually does a Zero Punctuation review of Minecraft, and that’s it’s positive.

I love PA, and I even more love getting Gabe hooked on the game!
And aiming towards getting a good review by Croshaw is pretty much a perfect game design philosophy. He’s got good taste, usually!

There is now officially an ngmoco private server. We’re got like 8 people playing on it I think. So far I made a hut out of dirt that has a ladder that goes all the way down to the bedrock. Found some diamond already, too.
