Migration to more modern forum?

That’s my take on it. I haven’t been here for 2 years, but this look & feel is one I automatically associate with JGO.

And in all honesty, I like this. It’s not too bulky, not too small, I like it. It doesn’t feel like other forums, where you feel like you’re trapped in a box.

If I’d roll back to a plain SMF install, you’d scream bloody murder :slight_smile:

JGO is SMF+1

I really like this forum. Fortunately I don’t know what goes on in the back end, I just get to use the results.

There are only two things really missing from it which are a mobile friendly version and … possibly … threading. Threading often doesn’t work very well though.

Indeed :slight_smile: Well, I often browse it on my S2 and Nexus 7.

I actually liked the older one more (which i can only vaguely remember now). Can we go back to that?

Like always, everything is possible. That does not make it an argument to go ahead and do it, you must first consider if it is a good idea.

I wouldn’t even know where to start… rolling back to some version that he can only vaguely remember…

O RLY!

Err if the original version is anywhere close to LWJGL’s forums…then PLEASE GOD NO ;D

for (int i=0; i<0; i=0)
{
    System.out.println("THIS ONE IS PERFECT! DONT CHANGE!");
    System.out.println("ALSO PLEASE ADD A MOBILE VERSION");
}

I am confused, that for loop is wrong, you went to a lot effort to say you want a new design.

note: i is never greater then 0, making the for loop never run, you may want to change it to

i == 0

while(true)
{
    //etc.
}

Or make it:

for (int i = 0; i < 1;i++){
//etc
}

Oops, I meant [icode]<[/icode]

Since everyone everywhere immediately jumped on the “No you’re wrong It’s Perfect” band wagon I’d like to show support for the migration… Unfortunately I can’t. IT’S PERFECT!

Not that it’s perfect. It’s just that there’s nothing terribly wrong with it imo.

What is perfect? If you get the perfect forum it is instantly not perfect anymore because people will want more. Perhaps this forum IS perfect, its just us users that are flawed.

…ooooor perhaps it’s not perfect and we’re not perfect or maybe there’s no such thing as perfect; but regardless, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If the forum as it is is sufficient for most everyone’s purpose and there’s not a lot to be gained in migrating/upgrading, then it would be best to leave things as they are.

It’s gone now!

WHAT?! NOooooo I thought he was being sarcastic?! I loved seeing it! It’s just like looking at Google’s time for search queries! :’(
