Marble Mania

Hey,

I’m slowly getting closer to a release of my game Marble Mania and I just thought I should show it to you guys so you can test it.

In Marble Mania you can create up to 3 Marbles and play with them against your Friends and you don’t even have to register! You can play on different Maps and different Gamemodes against your Friends.
Each Time you win against your Friend you gain Experience-Points and for each new Level you reach, you get Skillpoints, which you can spent on the Look of your Marble (e.g. you can change the Texture or add Flames to it) or you can buy new Skills like Invisibility or Extra-Weight for one Turn.

Marble Mania is written in Java (what else? ;D) and uses jMonkeyEngine 3.

Here are a few Screenshots:

And you can see the Trailer here:

or on the Site for Marble Mania:

It would be really cool if you could test it a little bit and post the bugs you find. (or post any other Feedback ;))

It’s actually only a Multiplayer-Game, so if you want to play just ask a friend or write me
Or you can play the Tutorial against an Bot, but he is really stupid ;D

I hope you like the game and have fun playing it.

P.S.: The Spamfilter works
Just got an Email telling me that I should remove the Links in the Post, so just delete the spaces in the URL.

EDIT: I just changed the post again and posted the right links and screenshots, so now everything should be like it’s supposed to be

I clicked around for a while without being able to start a game (no other players online), getting quite frustrated, before finally hitting the tutorial and being allowed to play against the computer. (If I’d read your post carefully enough I would’ve known that was how things worked. ::slight_smile: ) I tried to play the computer again after that but my mouse clicks (to launch the marble) were ignored.

I’d suggest making it easier to get into the actual game. The menus are nice but they’re not what I came to see. How about suggesting a single-player game automatically if no other players are present? Or making first-time players go through the tutorial straight away? Also, offering a ‘guest’ account for tourists like me is helpful (I’ve forgotten my user name and password already).

The game itself (graphics and physics) worked nicely from what I saw of it, and judging from the trailer there’s some pretty cool stuff going on when everything comes together.

hm…that sounds weird. I’ll check and try to reproduce why you couldn’t play the tutorial again.

I actually never thought about that before, but it’s a good Idea ;D
I think I’ll add an Message when you start the Game for the first time, and ask if the player wants to play the Tutorial.

I guess you already forgot your Password because you never entered one
The Game only asks for a Username and then it creates a new User and saves the user-id locally on you Computer.
If you want to use the same User on a different PC you’ll need to enter a Loginname + Password and then you can login with this account on another PC.

So IMO there is no need for a Guest Account

Thanks for your Feedback
