Magicosm not looking good...

I went over to the Magicosm forums to see if there was any updated status on David Yazel, etc… not looking good.

[quote]Our client developer has new family obligations, and has had to drop off the project completely, probably permanently.

It also mentions that the other two project leads are suffering burnout… ouch.

[quote]Magicosm is not dead, but it is sleeping.

This is bad news indeed for not only Magicosm, but I assume Xith as well.

Hi,

When people leave projects, this is always not so good…

…but as of Xith3D, it is already long time a comunity-driven project. I can tell that some people (OK, at least me) are working on Xith3D core to fix bugs and implement new features. For example, at this time I am working on 3D textures support for Xith3D, and there are also other features to implement.

In short words, Xith3D is not dead.

Yuri

I emailed David many weeks ago but did not get a reply.

However, with Yuri committed, and many other developers using it in their projects, Xith3D will live on regardless. Thank you Yuri for your continued dedication to the project!

While my personal development efforts at present are concentrated on Odejava, I am very much committed to the continued improvement and maintanence of Xith3D as Odejava & my personal project use it extensivly.

The BSD license means you’re not left totally high and dry even if all the main developers were to leave. Don’t worry, we won’t let it become abandonware.

Will.
